The RADO Captain Cook is named after the great British explorer, navigator, cartographer & Captain in the Royal Navy, Captain James Cook.
Cook was the 1st to map Newfoundland prior to making 3 voyages to the Pacific Ocean during which he achieved the 1st European contact with the eastern coastline of Australia & the Hawaiian Islands as well as the 1st recorded circumnavigation of New Zealand.
This particular all original RADO Captain Cook is a very rare variant. Aside from its unique features: concave glass crystal, rotating tachymeter, male/female crowns; it has a triple calendar display in tri-color: red day number, white day & black date! Lastly, notice that its hour markers are C-shaped, where the common Captain Cook has bar markers.
This watch is in NEAR MINT condition, according to the Timezone Grading System: Showing very light signs of wear. Very faint scratches on the case, bezel, bracelet or buckle are visible to the naked eye. Completely original in every way - The watch is working perfectly, keeping good time & needs nothing. 93-97%
