The photos presented below are of the actual item for sale. Kindly study them carefully because what you see is what you will get. We try our best to describe watches as accurately as we can that's why we present them visually & literally. In case we missed a few points, you are welcome to ask questions.

This LORD ELGIN is a well-preserved piece but it has not totally denied the effect of time & age as some detailing on the dial has faded (easily missed unless you knew they'd been there & you knew where to look)! Despite such imperfections, this watch is obviously in overall good condition.
ELGIN is an American watchmaking company but this particular model is Swiss-made at Neuchatel, no less!
The economy of Neuchâtel Switzerland is based on watch manufacturers. Its prime cities, La Chaux-de-Fonds & Le Locle, jointly received recognition from UNESCO as World Heritage Sites for their for their horological & cultural past!

The LORD ELGIN Dual-Crown Diver has very similar features to the RADO Captain Cook, though they differ in appearance. Both watches have 2 crowns: one to operate time & the other, to rotate the tachymeter. Now I wonder which model came first!

EXTERNAL CONDITION: This watch is in *EXCELLENT condition (88-92%): Evidence of use is visible to the unaided eye. Scratches are light, but more numerous than "near mint".
INTERNAL CONDITION: This watch is in *NEAR MINT condition (93-97%): working perfectly, keeping good time & needs nothing.
*condition descriptives mainly based on the Timezone Grading System

stainless bezel with black resin filler/insert
ROTATING tachymeter marked in white; turns perfectly without drag or snag
black enamel dial or face
The ELGIN symbol logo (below "LORD ELGIN") at 12 o'clock & "AUTOMATIC" at 6 o'clock have faded with age. I can make out faint outlines in white through a lens.

steel bar hour markers
day & date window at 3 o'clock; date has slightly yellowed with age but it is its original since its font matches that of the day

steel LORD ELGIN name logo at 12 o'clock; ELGIN symbol logo has faded with age & only a very faint white outline remains - easily missed unless you knew it had been there & knew where to look
"AUTOMATIC" at 6 o'clock has faded with age & only a very faint white outline remains - easily missed unless you knew it had been there & knew where to look

new stainless steel crowns
clear glass crystal

new stainless steel bracelet

ELGIN stainless steel fold-over clasp

case back embossed with ELGIN name logo, "SWISS", "ALL STAINLESS STEEL"; We cannot guarantee the effectiveness of its waterproof closure because this watch is vintage.
