The RADO Captain Cook is named after the great British explorer, navigator, cartographer & Captain in the Royal Navy, Captain James Cook.

Cook was the 1^st to map Newfoundland prior to making 3 voyages to the Pacific Ocean during which he achieved the 1^st European contact with the eastern coastline of Australia & the Hawaiian Islands as well as the 1^st recorded circumnavigation of New Zealand.
