This is an authentic World War II HAMILTON H2 US Navy BU Ships Manual-Wind Watch.
HAMILTON developed this special US Navy BU Ships watch with a canteen crown cap, which screws down over the winding stem & a thick glass crystal, which is soldered into place to keep water off. It has classic spade & pointer hands & a watermark HAMILTON logo (seen only when tilted against light) characteristic of a frogman watch.
HAMILTON was the first manufacturer to supply a diver's watch to Naval Combat Demolition Teams in the early 1940's. They worked with the Navy's construction battalions or Sea Bees clearing beach approaches of mines & other obstacles.
One of the rarest vintage military watches ever made! Issue watches were supposed to be turned in after duty so few survived for collectors.
This watch keeps good time & is in good working condition! Add this to your collection of vintage quality timepieces!
